About
Welcome to La Madriguera Cafe, a delightful gem located at Divina Comedia 1666 Bis in Montevideo, Uruguay. This cozy spot has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, known for its inviting atmosphere and exceptional offerings. Whether you’re looking for a quiet place to work or a vibrant space to unwind, La Madriguera Cafe has something for everyone.
One of the standout features of La Madriguera Cafe is its commitment to quality. As Jessica Ureste noted in her review, the veggie sandwich boasts high-quality bread and a delightful flavor that leaves you wanting more. Pair it with their perfectly balanced café con leche, and you've got a culinary experience that's just right—neither too bitter nor too sweet.
The outdoor seating at La Madriguera Cafe is a true delight, especially on sunny days when you can soak up the pleasant atmosphere. The extensive green space surrounding the cafe makes it a popular choice in warmer months, as Emilia Guidobono highlights. The friendly staff there adds to the charm, welcoming guests with smiles and offering stellar recommendations to enhance your visit.
For those with a sweet tooth, the selection of baked goods is truly eye-catching. From cookies to cakes, and particularly the renowned orange cake that Emilia recommends, each item is crafted with love and a multitude of flavors. Whether you opt for a muffin or an alfajor, as noted by Bruno Giosa, you're certain to indulge in something exceptional. La Madriguera Cafe also excels in its coffee offerings, providing an array of options tailored to satisfy every coffee enthusiast. The espresso and hot chocolate stand out as must-tries, garnering high praise from patrons like Marcos Ambrosi, who emphasize that this cafe serves the best coffee in Montevideo.
It’s no wonder that La Madriguera Cafe has established itself as a cherished spot in the Arocena area. With its inviting ambiance, attentive service, and delectable menu, it’s a place you’ll want to return to time and time again. Just as Sandra Perez mentioned, while it might not be the cheapest option around, the delightful experience is absolutely worth every penny.
If you find yourself in Montevideo, make sure to visit La Madriguera Cafe. It's more than just a cafe; it's a warm and welcoming community hub that invites you to sit down, relax, and enjoy the finest flavors the city has to offer.
“ I’ve been there countless times and everything about the place is beautiful. The coffee is the best in Montevideo and the food is always tasty and fresh. ”
“ Family favorite, great for a quick stop, working at the coffee shop or just enjoying the food. Great vintage and minimalistic decor, with the stone table outside bring the standout. One of the best places to grab a coffee in Montevideo with even more incredible food. However I have tried the lunch menu several times and have always felt disappointed for the exception of the falafel salad, so would opt for breakfast or tea time rather than a full meal. ”
“ Good vibe inside and heavenly outside under the trees. Great coffee and eggs, but next time I’m skipping the granola on top. I loved the menu, it was very hard to choose and they have some tasty options for vegetarians. The staff is truly nice and welcoming. ”
“ Beautiful. The veggie sandwich we had was delicious. High quality bread. The café con leche was not too bitter and not too sweet when I added sugar. It was just right. It was a sunny day so we got to enjoy the nice outdoor seating. Definitely worth the bus ride if you don’t live near. ”
“ This was the best espresso we had in Montevideo and the same thing for the alfajor. They serve specialty coffee in single (ristretto) and doble doses plus the regular milk plus coffee menu. The alfajor was incredible. The space is good for small kids with outdoor seating. If you are looking for a spot to work from you are gonna love their inside seating. ”
“ One of the best coffee and sweet places around the area. And with the big green space, in the summer, it’s maybe the most visited coffee in Arocena. The place is cozy. It invites us to stay, and the staff makes the place even better. They welcome you with a smile, make recommendations if you ask for them, they take your order to your table and are happy to help you anyway you need. The sweet options on display when you are choosing, make the decision even harder: everything looks amazing! From the cookies, the cakes, the pound cakes and muffins, with everything you have many flavors to choose from. My personal recommendation: the orange cake! So wonderful, “spongy” and filled with flavor. They have really good coffee, The, and a personal favorite: their Hot Chocolate. I am sharing many photos so you get an idea of the place and what they offer. I really hope you get to visit La Madriguera (The Burrow) yourselves! ”
“ Little, busy cafe in carrasco which offers seating ar rangements outdoors and indoors. Since it was cold we waited for a table indoors. It was a weekday at 9am and the room was full. I include photos of the menu. Not cheap but worth the experience. ”
